Lucas | Austin Senior Photographer

I’ve photographed this guy for over a decade now. I’m always amazed by how fast time passes and then these moments when you thought they’d be little forever are gone. I too now have a senior in high school and it’s all so unreal. Can someone please tell me where to find the β€œpause” button? I don’t just love my job because I get to have fun and be creative… I also love it because I feel like I’m able to press β€œpause” with each photo I take.

Austin Engagement Session at Butler Park | Patrick + Gaby

Let’s talk lighting. It’s what I would call the β€œmain ingredient” of photography. Without it you have no photo so it’s pretty dang important. When I’m scheduling sessions the two opportune times of the day are within an hour of sunrise or within the last hour or two of sunset. Their are also strategies around middle of the day harsh light photography but that’s not really my jam so I tend to avoid it. If it’s an overcast day, well you can pretty much shoot at any time and get great results. I love a good overcast day for a more moody vibe.

Patrick and Gaby absolutely killed it with their outfits and good energy. We started out at Red Bud Isle for some nature shots then headed to Butler park to catch that evening light on Austins forever changing skyline. I can’t wait for their bid day at Springdale Station next year!
